Now that you and all of your friends and family members and coworkers and acquaintances can start tagging people in Instagram pics, you will inevitably be tagged in a photo you don’t like.
We can’t keep you from being tagged in that embarrassing photo of you passed out on the floor, but we can tell you exactly what to do to hide that #Instanightmare from your profile.
When someone tags you in a photo, Instagram notifies you and places the pic in the “Photos of You” tab on your profile page. Tap the photo and your Instagram handle pops up. From there, tap your Instagram handle to reach a pop-up settings window. Simply choose “Hide from My Profile” and voila!. You’ve removed the image from your profile so people visiting your page never lay eyes on the offending image.
If that’s not enough and you simply must eliminate all association with particularly embarrassing or incriminating photos, tap the “More Options” button and choose “Remove Me from Photo.” This completely removes the tag from the image. You can also report the photo as inappropriate. Some shots are only meant for SnapChat, you know?
